Buy the battery for the outage you actually get, not the one in the brochure.
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus stores 1,024Wh and delivers 1,800W from six outlets at 27.6 lb, refills from the wall in 56 minutes and takes extra batteries up to about 5kWh. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus stores 3,072Wh and delivers 3,600W with a 7,200W surge, adds a TT-30 RV outlet, a 30A Anderson port, 1,600W of solar and 3,200W generator charging, and grows to about 11kWh, at 74.3 lb. Prices sit $880 apart today. If your outages last an evening and nothing draws more than 1,800W, the Plus is enough; for a full day, an RV or a kitchen running at once, the Ultra Plus.
Below: the differences with numbers, a 20-second calculator for your own gear, eight modeled situations, two ways to reach 3kWh and beyond, a middle option, and what published tests found on each.
The Ultra Plus stores three times the energy, delivers twice the output, adds a TT-30 and an Anderson port and takes 600W more solar. The DELTA 3 Plus weighs 46.7 lb less, refills faster and carries an IP65 battery pack. Prices sit $880 apart today.

The five differences that decide it
Both use LFP cells, the EcoFlow app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, X-Boost for heating loads, a 10ms UPS, Storm Guard, a 12V car socket and an extra-battery port that takes the DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery. These five gaps decide it.
Will it run your setup? Check in 20 seconds
Estimates use 85% usable capacity and 70% of rated solar output. Real results vary with temperature, inverter load, shade and appliance cycling. Fridge and freezer watts are daily averages and do not include compressor startup surges.
Runtime by appliance, one at a time
Simple energy estimates, not measured runtimes. About 870Wh usable on the DELTA 3 Plus and 2,611Wh on the Ultra Plus; StorageReview measured 910Wh and 2.61kWh out of them.
Appliance for appliance, the Ultra Plus lasts 3.0 times as long as the Plus.

The price gap, in numbers
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus costs $880 more than the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus and adds 2,048Wh: that is $0.43 per extra Wh, against $0.70 per Wh for the Plus.
Prices refresh daily from EcoFlow US.What the $880 buys: three times the battery (3,072Wh vs 1,024Wh), 3,600W instead of 1,800W and a TT-30.
Ultra Plus alone (3,072Wh) costs $1,019 less today.
EcoFlow lists the DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery for both stations, so one bought for a DELTA 3 Plus moves to an Ultra Plus later. A DELTA 3 Plus with that battery holds more energy than an Ultra Plus alone, but stays at 1,800W with no TT-30 and 1,000W of solar. EcoFlow US prices move often; the figures here are refreshed daily by our price engine.
The third option: the DELTA 3 Max Plus at $1,149
EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus: $1,149 today
The middle of the family: 2,048Wh and 3,000W from four 20A outlets, a 30A Anderson port, 1,000W of solar, 0 to 80% from the wall in 64 minutes and expansion to about 10kWh, at 48.7 lb. It has no TT-30, like the Plus. See the DELTA 3 Max Plus at EcoFlow.
Eight modeled situations, worked out
Same formula as the calculator above: 85% of the rated capacity, no extra battery. The fridge averages 60W, about 525kWh a year.
24-hour outage, essentials only
The Ultra Plus covers a full day; the DELTA 3 Plus gets you through the evening and the night.
Microwave, coffee maker and space heater
Only the Ultra Plus carries all three, with no headroom. On the DELTA 3 Plus, run one at a time.
RV with a 30A inlet
The Ultra Plus takes the cord directly. The DELTA 3 Plus needs an adapter to a standard outlet and its 1,800W limit, so the RV’s air conditioner is out.
A full-size fridge, nothing else
About 14 hours on the Plus, close to two days on the Ultra Plus. Digital Trends ran a garage freezer for nearly three days on an Ultra Plus.
CPAP, every night
Two to three nights on the Plus, about eight on the Ultra Plus. T3 found the Plus’s fans cycling at light loads, so try it in the bedroom first.
Refill from solar, each at its maximum
The Plus fills in an afternoon; the Ultra Plus needs about twice as long but banks three times the energy, and can add a Smart Generator for 3,960W combined.
Refill from the wall before a storm
The Plus is full before the Ultra Plus reaches 80%. Digital Trends and How-To Geek needed about 1 hour 40 minutes to fill an Ultra Plus, and How-To Geek’s started at 200W until changed in the app.
Moving it
The Plus is a one-person carry. How-To Geek called the Ultra Plus big and heavy; plan for two people or a cart.

DELTA 3 Ultra Plus
Practical consequence: the Ultra Plus adds the TT-30 for an RV, four 20A outlets and a 30A Anderson port for 12V gear. The DELTA 3 Plus has six standard outlets and keeps two DC5521 barrels; both have a 12V car socket and a 140W USB-C.
09 · NoiseNoise and heat: Plus vs Ultra Plus
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus has the better record: EcoFlow rates it at 25dB or less at 600W, and Digital Trends found its fans unnoticeable even at full load. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is rated under 30dB at 600W, but T3 and Trusted Reviews found its fans running even at light loads.
EcoFlow’s figures, measured at 1 m. Reviewers gave no dB values.Every figure we found, with its source
What reviewers heard: Fans ran once a port was on and cycled about every minute (T3); they ran even at low loads (Trusted Reviews, UK unit); the unit got warmer than expected on light loads (How-To Geek).
What reviewers heard: Fan noise stayed unnoticeable even under full load (Digital Trends).
Measured by a tester Brand figure
- The fans run hardest while fast charging, so lower the charging speed in the app at night.
Cold and heat: Plus vs Ultra Plus
EcoFlow US doesn’t publish its temperature ranges for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus charges from 32°F to 113°F and runs from 14°F to 113°F. Only the DELTA 3 Plus’s battery pack carries a water rating, IP65.
Figures from EcoFlow US; EcoFlow US doesn’t publish its temperature ranges for the DELTA 3 Plus.- In a garage in winter, bring either one inside to charge: the Ultra Plus doesn’t charge below 32°F, and EcoFlow US doesn’t publish the DELTA 3 Plus’s ranges.
- Run the Ultra Plus between 68°F and 86°F when you can: EcoFlow’s optimal operating range.
App, UPS and smart features
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus and the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus share the app, Storm Guard and a 10ms UPS. The Ultra Plus adds Smart Output Priority and a bigger Smart Generator link, up to 3,200W.
Same app and UPS. The gap is generator power and output priority.Green zone: a switch under about 16ms, which most desktop PCs ride through without restarting.
Can it keep only the essentials running? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus switches off non-priority outlets at a battery level you choose. EcoFlow lists no such feature for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus.
Does it work as a UPS? Both switch in under 10ms; StorageReview measured just over 8ms on the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus and 8.25ms on the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus.
Can you add a battery later? Both take the DELTA Pro 3 Extra Battery: the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus to about 5kWh, the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus to about 11kWh with two.
How much can a generator put in? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus charges from an EcoFlow Smart Generator at up to 3,200W; the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus at 1,500W through its XT150 port.
Does it prepare for storms? Both charge ahead of severe weather once the feature is on in the EcoFlow app.
Can it charge off-peak? Both charge off-peak from the EcoFlow app; on the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus this needs app V6.15+ and firmware V7.80.99.52+.
How does the app connect? Both use the EcoFlow app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Warranty and support
EcoFlow’s US warranty table gives the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus 5 years with no condition. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra Plus gets 3 years, plus 2 more once registered in the EcoFlow app.
Same 5 years at best; only the Ultra Plus needs the app.Subject to each brand’s warranty terms and eligibility.
EcoFlow rates the DELTA 3 Plus at 4,000 cycles to 80%, about 11 years at one full cycle a day. For the Ultra Plus it publishes no cycle count, only 10 years of use. Calendar aging and heat also reduce capacity.
- Register the Ultra Plus in the EcoFlow app the day it arrives: without registration, its warranty stops at 3 years.
What reviewers report
We have not lab-tested these two units. Here is what 8 published reviews found, with the source, author and date for each point. Reviews of UK and EU units are flagged: those models charge from 230V outlets and have different sockets, so their charge times and outlet findings don’t carry over to US units.

Practical limits before you buy
- The DELTA 3 Plus has no TT-30. A 30A RV cord needs an adapter, and 1,800W won’t run an RV air conditioner and much else.
- The Ultra Plus weighs 74.3 lb. How-To Geek called it big and heavy; plan where it lives.
- Check the Ultra Plus’s charging setting. How-To Geek’s unit charged at 200W out of the box, and the full 1,800W setting tripped a garage GFCI outlet.
- The Ultra Plus’s Anderson port and car socket share 378W.
- The DELTA 3 Plus’s fans run at light loads, per T3 and Trusted Reviews.
- X-Boost is for heating loads only. Motors need the continuous rating: 1,800W or 3,600W.
- Register the Ultra Plus in the app for the full 5 years; without it, 3.
- Neither delivers 240V.
