Does the Anker SOLIX E10 Qualify for the Federal Tax Credit? (2026)

If you were counting on knocking 30% off an Anker SOLIX E10 with the federal tax credit, the rules have changed. The Residential Clean Energy Credit (IRS Section 25D), which covered standalone home batteries from 2023, ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025.

This guide explains what changed, what still applies if your E10 was installed in 2025, what a business can look at instead, and what the E10 actually costs without the credit.

Short answer: for a home installation completed in 2026, no, the E10 no longer qualifies for a federal tax credit. If it was installed by December 31, 2025, you can still claim 30% on your 2025 return with Form 5695.

What Happened to the 30% Tax Credit for Home Batteries?

From 2023 through 2025, a standalone home battery with at least 3kWh of capacity qualified for the 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit, with no solar panels required. The Inflation Reduction Act had scheduled that 30% rate to run through 2032 before stepping down.

The 2025 tax law known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed on July 4, 2025, ended it early. The IRS now states that the credit “will not be allowed for any expenditures made after December 31, 2025.”

The date that counts is installation, not payment. An expenditure is treated as made when the original installation is completed, so an E10 paid for in December 2025 but installed in January 2026 doesn’t qualify.

This applies to every brand, not just Anker: EcoFlow, Jackery and Bluetti home batteries installed in 2026 are in the same position. The IRS Residential Clean Energy Credit page remains the reference for the details.

The Anker SOLIX E10 in Brief

The E10 is a whole-home battery system, not a portable power station. Each E10 power module delivers 120/240V split-phase power, up to 7,680W continuous with a battery, and accepts up to five B6000 battery modules of 6.1kWh each. Anker lists 6kWh to 30kWh per E10, and up to 90kWh with three E10 units on a Power Dock.

It connects to your home through a Smart Inlet Box (manual transfer) or a Power Dock (automatic transfer), and it carries UL9540 and UL9540A certification. For full specs and performance, see our E10 system overview and the full Anker SOLIX brand review.

If Your E10 Was Installed in 2025

If the installation was completed by December 31, 2025, the old rules still apply to that system. You claim the credit on your 2025 tax return with IRS Form 5695.

What counted toward the credit

The credit is 30% of qualified costs. According to the IRS, that includes labor for onsite preparation, assembly or original installation, and for wiring to connect the system to the home. The E10’s battery modules (6.1kWh each) clear the 3kWh minimum for battery storage.

A few rules from the IRS page are worth checking against your situation:

  • The home must be in the United States, new or existing. Your main home qualifies, and so does a second home you live in part-time and don’t rent out.
  • A landlord who doesn’t live in the property can’t claim the credit.
  • Utility subsidies, and rebates tied to the property’s cost, reduce the amount the credit is based on.

How the credit works on your return

The credit is non-refundable: it reduces the federal tax you owe, but it doesn’t pay out the difference if it’s larger than your tax bill. Any unused amount can be carried forward to reduce tax in future years, and that carryforward survives the end of the credit.

Keep the purchase invoice, the installer’s invoice and any permit showing the installation date. Tax software handles Form 5695 in its energy credits section, and a CPA or enrolled agent is worth an hour of your time for a system at this price.

What About Businesses?

Battery storage hasn’t disappeared from the tax code entirely. According to the Congressional Research Service, batteries remain eligible for the commercial Clean Electricity Investment Credit (Section 48E) under the 2025 law, for projects that begin construction before 2034 to get the full credit.

That’s a business credit with its own rules, including restrictions on components from certain foreign entities, and it’s claimed by businesses rather than on a homeowner’s Form 5695. If an E10 would serve a business property, ask a tax professional whether it can qualify before you count on it.

State and Utility Incentives

Federal rules are only part of the picture. Some states and utilities offer rebates or programs for home batteries, and the DSIRE database (Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency) lists them by state.

Read the conditions closely. Anker says neither the E10 nor the Power Dock feeds electricity back to the grid, so programs that pay batteries to export power during peak events may not fit. Rebates for installed backup storage are a better place to start.

No credit, higher rates: the EIA now forecasts electricity at 18.21 cents per kWh in 2026. What that changes, and what a battery does about it, in our electric bill breakdown.

What the E10 Costs Now, Without the Credit

Without the 30% credit, the sticker price is the price. Here are Anker’s US list prices for the main E10 configurations, checked on October 4, 2026. Anker runs frequent sales; in early October 2026, most kits were $300 off.

Configuration Battery List price
Starter Kit: E10 (Power Module + 1 battery) 6.1kWh $4,299
E10 (Power Module + 2 batteries) 12.3kWh $6,299
Manual Backup Kit: E10 + 2 batteries + Smart Inlet Box 12.3kWh $6,599
Automatic Backup Kit: E10 + 2 batteries + Power Dock 12.3kWh $7,799
2x E10 (2 batteries each) + Power Dock 24.6kWh $14,098
Extra B6000 battery module +6.1kWh $2,499

Installation is extra: Anker’s FAQ calls for a professional electrician, and the cost depends on your panel and local rates. For help choosing between the Smart Inlet Box and Power Dock kits, our E10 buying guide covers the differences in detail.

Is the E10 still worth it without the credit?

The credit changed the price, not what the E10 does. It still makes sense if you need whole-home 240V backup, run central air or a well pump during outages, or plan to add solar later (each E10 accepts up to 9kW of solar input). If you only need to keep a fridge, lights and a few circuits running, a smaller system costs far less.

Common Questions About the E10 Tax Credit

Does the Anker SOLIX E10 qualify for the federal tax credit in 2026?

Not for a home installation completed in 2026. The Residential Clean Energy Credit (Section 25D), which covered home batteries of at least 3kWh like the E10, is not allowed for expenditures made after December 31, 2025, under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed on July 4, 2025.

I paid for my E10 in 2025, but it was installed in 2026. Can I still claim the credit?

No. The IRS treats the expenditure as made when the original installation is completed, not when you pay. An E10 installed in 2026 does not qualify, even if it was paid for in 2025.

My E10 was installed in 2025. How do I claim the credit?

File Form 5695 with your 2025 tax return. The credit is 30% of qualified costs, including labor for installation and wiring, and the E10’s 6.1kWh battery modules clear the 3kWh minimum. The credit is non-refundable, but any unused amount can be carried forward to future tax years.

Can a business claim a tax credit for battery storage?

Possibly. Battery storage remains eligible for the commercial Clean Electricity Investment Credit (Section 48E), which follows different rules from the residential credit. It is a business credit, so ask a tax professional before counting on it.

Are there state or utility incentives for the E10?

Some states and utilities offer rebates or programs for home batteries. Terms vary widely, and Anker says the E10 does not feed electricity back to the grid, which can rule out programs that pay for exported power. Check the DSIRE database and your utility before you buy.

The Bottom Line

The Anker SOLIX E10 no longer qualifies for a federal tax credit when it’s installed at a home in 2026. The 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit ended for installations completed after December 31, 2025, and paying earlier doesn’t change that.

If your E10 was installed in 2025, claim the credit on your 2025 return with Form 5695 and carry forward anything you can’t use. For a new purchase, budget for the full price, check state and utility programs, and size the system for your real backup needs rather than for an incentive.
