The new one is lighter and quieter. The old one can grow.
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra and the EcoFlow DELTA Pro share the same 3,600W inverter and 7,200W surge. The DELTA 3 Ultra costs $500 less, weighs 27 lb less, runs at 25dB instead of 48 to 60dB and switches to UPS in 10ms instead of 30ms. The DELTA Pro holds 528Wh more, takes twice the solar and is the only one of the two that accepts extra batteries. If 3kWh will stay enough, the Ultra is the better buy.
Below: every difference with numbers, a 20-second calculator for your own gear, six modeled situations, the DELTA Pro 3 as a third option, and what four published tests found.
Same 3,600W, same 7,200W surge. The DELTA Pro costs $500 more and buys three things: 528Wh more, twice the solar input and an extra battery port. The Ultra wins on weight, noise and UPS speed.
- you’ll move it: 27 lb lighter
- it sits in a living space: 25dB, not 48 to 60dB
- it protects a computer: 10ms UPS
- you’ll add batteries: up to 10.8kWh
- you’ll run more than 800W of solar
- you want EcoFlow’s Smart Home Panel setup
The five differences that decide it
The five gaps that decide the purchase, with the better spec for most buyers flagged. Eight smaller differences and the full spec sheet come after the calculator. The 3,600W inverter, the 7,200W surge, the operating temperatures and the 5-year warranty are identical.
Will it run your setup? Check in 20 seconds
Estimates use 85% usable capacity and 70% of rated solar output. Real results vary with temperature, inverter load, shade and appliance cycling. Fridge and freezer watts are daily averages and do not include compressor startup surges.
Runtime by appliance, one at a time
Simple energy estimates, not measured runtimes. One column per unit: about 2,611Wh usable on the DELTA 3 Ultra and 3,060Wh on the DELTA Pro.
Appliance for appliance, the DELTA Pro lasts 17% longer than the Ultra.

The price gap, in numbers
The EcoFlow DELTA Pro costs $500 more than the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra and adds 528Wh: that is $0.95 per extra Wh, against $0.42 per Wh for the Ultra.
Prices refresh daily from EcoFlow US.What the $500 buys: 528Wh more battery (3,600Wh vs 3,072Wh), a port for extra batteries and 1,600W of solar instead of 800W.
2 × DELTA 3 Ultra (6,144Wh) costs $201 less today.
The lifetime figure divides the price by 3,500 cycles times the capacity. EcoFlow rates the DELTA Pro at 3,500 cycles to 80%; it publishes no cycle count for the DELTA 3 Ultra, only an estimate of about 10 years, so we apply the same 3,500 as a floor. Read it as a ranking, not a bill. The third card is for buyers who want more than 3kWh: two Ultras give two separate 3,600W stations, a DELTA Pro 3 gives one 4,000W station with 240V and real expansion.
The third option: the DELTA Pro 3 at $2,799
EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3: $2,799 today
The DELTA Pro’s successor, and the answer if you want the Ultra’s generation and the Pro’s expansion in one unit. 4,096Wh, 4,000W at 120V and 240V (X-Boost to 6,000W), a 10ms UPS, 4,000 cycles to 80%, and an L14-30 outlet next to the TT-30. EcoFlow sells its extra battery, and quotes 4 to 48kWh for full systems. It sits $1,500 above the DELTA 3 Ultra. It is also $1,000 above the DELTA Pro. DELTA Pro vs DELTA Pro 3 and our DELTA Pro 3 review go deeper. See the DELTA Pro 3 at EcoFlow.
Six modeled situations, worked out
Same formula as the calculator above, with 0 extra batteries unless stated. The fridge averages 60W, about 525kWh a year, in the range printed on typical EnergyGuide labels; that average does not include compressor startup surges.
24-hour outage, essentials only
Both cover a full day. The DELTA Pro’s extra 528Wh buys about five more hours, and only the DELTA Pro can be extended to a third day.
A window AC through a summer outage
Both run the AC through an evening, not a day. Neither covers air conditioning around the clock without solar or a generator; that is where the DELTA Pro’s 1,600W of solar and extra batteries come in.
Home office through an outage
Both carry a workday and more. The switchover decides it: under 10ms on the Ultra (8.25ms measured on the Ultra Plus), under 30ms on the DELTA Pro, which some desktop power supplies don’t ride through.
Refill from solar, 1,600W of panels
With 800W of panels or less, the Ultra refills a smaller battery sooner. Above that, only the DELTA Pro uses the extra panels and refills in a single good day.
Two nights in an RV
Both have a 30A RV outlet and a 12V socket. The DELTA Pro adds a 30A Anderson port and lasts a few hours longer; the Ultra is 27 lb easier to load. CleanTechnica ran a small RV, air conditioner and microwave included, from a DELTA Pro.
A well pump through an outage
Both start it easily: 7,200W of surge on each. A 240V well pump is another story: neither delivers 240V alone, and the DELTA Pro needs a second unit and the Double Voltage Hub for it.
Eight more differences, the spec sheet and the box
Smaller gaps that rarely decide the purchase, then the full specifications and what ships in the box.
DELTA 3 Ultra and DELTA Pro weight, dimensions and full specifications
Weight: 72.1 lb for the DELTA 3 Ultra and 99 lb for the DELTA Pro. Dimensions: about 24.6 × 12.9 × 15.6 in for the DELTA 3 Ultra and 25 × 11.2 × 16.4 in for the DELTA Pro, per EcoFlow. Everything else is in the sheet below.

Practical consequence: both feed an RV’s 30A inlet and a transfer switch. The DELTA Pro has more DC outputs for a van build, including a 30A Anderson port; the Ultra has the faster USB-C for laptops.
09 · NoiseNoise: Ultra vs DELTA Pro
The biggest everyday difference: EcoFlow rates the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra at 25dB or less at 600W, and says the EcoFlow DELTA Pro runs at 48 to 60dB at 1 m, depending on load and temperature.
Both figures are EcoFlow’s. Digital Trends found the Ultra Plus’s fans unobtrusive even at full load.Every figure we found, with its source
What reviewers heard: Testing the Ultra Plus, which shares its battery and inverter, Digital Trends found the fan noise unobtrusive even at full load.
What reviewers heard: The cooling fans kicked in at a 3,000W microwave load (CleanTechnica).
Measured by a tester Brand figure
- Lower the AC charging speed in the app overnight on either unit; in a bedroom or office, the noise gap matters most.
Cold, heat and storage: Ultra vs DELTA Pro
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra and the EcoFlow DELTA Pro share the same limits: charging from 32°F to 113°F, running from 14°F to 113°F. Neither publishes a water rating.
Figures from the EcoFlow US DELTA 3 Ultra page and the DELTA Pro user manual.- In a garage in winter, bring either one inside to charge: neither charges below 32°F.
- For storage, both list 68°F to 86°F as the best range; the DELTA Pro manual says not to store it above 113°F.
App, UPS and smart features
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra is the better UPS, at under 10ms with PC shutdown over USB-C, and adds Storm Guard and time-of-use. The EcoFlow DELTA Pro takes extra batteries and works with the Smart Home Panel 2.
Same EcoFlow app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Both work with EcoFlow’s Smart Generators.Green zone: a switch under about 16ms, which most desktop PCs ride through without restarting.
Can it tell a PC to shut down? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra’s 140W USB-C port supports HID for clean PC shutdown; EcoFlow lists no such feature for the DELTA Pro.
Can you add a battery later? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra can’t be expanded; the EcoFlow DELTA Pro takes two extra batteries for 10.8kWh, though EcoFlow US listed them as unavailable on October 30, 2026.
Does it prepare for storms? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra’s Storm Guard charges ahead of severe weather; EcoFlow lists no such feature for the DELTA Pro.
Can it charge off-peak? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra has time-of-use, Self-Powered Mode and Scheduled Tasks; EcoFlow lists none of these for the DELTA Pro.
Does it work as a UPS? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra switches in under 10ms, and StorageReview measured 8.25ms on the Ultra Plus; the EcoFlow DELTA Pro’s EPS mode switches within 30ms, which can reboot some desktops.
Does it connect to a home panel? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra connects to a house through a manual transfer switch or an inlet box on its 30A outlet; the EcoFlow DELTA Pro also works with the Smart Home Panel 2 through the Double Voltage Hub, and two DELTA Pros make 240V.
Does it work with a generator? Both work with EcoFlow’s Smart Generators; the EcoFlow DELTA Pro ships with the adapter.
Warranty and support
Both reach 5 years once registered in the EcoFlow app. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Ultra gets 3 years out of the box; the EcoFlow DELTA Pro gets 2, plus 3 after registration.
EcoFlow’s pages disagree on the DELTA Pro’s split (3+2 or 2+3). We show the shorter base.Subject to each brand’s warranty terms and eligibility.
EcoFlow rates the DELTA Pro at 3,500 cycles to 80% and 6,500 to 50%; at one full cycle a day, 3,500 cycles is about 9.6 years. It publishes no cycle count for the DELTA 3 Ultra, only an estimated 10-year life. The DELTA Pro has been on sale since 2021: a new unit is an older design with a full warranty.
- Register either one in the EcoFlow app the day it arrives: the 5-year term depends on it on both.
What reviewers report
We have not lab-tested these two units. No independent measured test of the base DELTA 3 Ultra exists yet; the Ultra Plus shares its 3,072Wh battery and 3,600W inverter and adds expansion and a second solar input, so its results are the closest proxy.

Practical limits before you buy
- The DELTA 3 Ultra can never be expanded. It has no extra battery port; that is the DELTA 3 Ultra Plus. Buy it only if 3,072Wh will stay enough.
- The DELTA Pro’s extra battery was sold out. On October 30, 2026, EcoFlow US listed the DELTA Pro Smart Extra Battery as unavailable. Check before you count on expanding.
- X-Boost is for heating loads only. The Ultra’s 4,600W and the Pro’s 4,500W apply to kettles and heaters. Motors and compressors need the 3,600W rating and the 7,200W surge, the same on both.
- Neither one gives you 240V alone. A 240V well pump, dryer or EV charger needs two DELTA Pros and the Double Voltage Hub, or a DELTA Pro 3.
- The DELTA Pro is loud for a living room. EcoFlow quotes 48 to 60dB; the Ultra stays at 25dB at 600W.
- 99 lb is a two-person lift. OutdoorGearLab weighed the DELTA Pro at 97.5 lb; both have wheels, only the Ultra is light enough for one person on stairs.
- The Ultra ships without solar or car cables. The DELTA Pro includes both.
- Register either one in the app. Both reach 5 years: the Ultra is 3 years out of the box plus 2 after registration, the DELTA Pro 2 years plus 3.
Frequently asked questions
Is the DELTA 3 Ultra the replacement for the DELTA Pro?
Not exactly. It matches the DELTA Pro’s 3,600W in a lighter, quieter, newer package, but it can’t be expanded. The DELTA Pro’s real successor is the DELTA Pro 3, which keeps expansion and adds 240V.
Can I add an extra battery to the DELTA 3 Ultra?
No. The base DELTA 3 Ultra has no extra battery port. The DELTA 3 Ultra Plus does, up to about 11kWh with two DELTA Pro 3 Extra Batteries.
How long will each run a refrigerator?
Using a 60W average draw and 85% usable capacity, about 43 hours on the DELTA 3 Ultra and 51 hours on the DELTA Pro. Digital Trends ran a garage freezer for nearly 48 hours on the Ultra Plus. Results vary with the fridge and the room.
Can they run a central air conditioner?
Not a typical 240V central unit: neither puts out 240V alone. A 120V window or portable AC, yes: at a steady 650W, about 4 hours on the DELTA 3 Ultra and 4.7 hours on the DELTA Pro, longer when the compressor cycles off.
Which is better as a UPS for a computer?
The DELTA 3 Ultra: under 10ms, measured at 8.25ms on the Ultra Plus, with HID over USB-C for clean shutdown. The DELTA Pro’s EPS mode switches within 30ms, which some desktop power supplies don’t ride through.
Which charges faster from solar?
Up to 800W of panels, the Ultra, because its battery is smaller. Above that, the DELTA Pro, which takes 1,600W at up to 150V: about 3.2 hours of full sun at 70% panel output, against about 5.5 hours for the Ultra at its 800W limit.
Are they the same size?
Close in footprint, not in weight: about 24.6 × 12.9 × 15.6 inches and 72.1 lb for the DELTA 3 Ultra, 25 × 11.2 × 16.4 inches and 99 lb for the DELTA Pro.
Is the DELTA Pro still worth buying in 2026?
If you’ll use its 1,600W solar input or extra batteries, yes, and it charges fast. If you won’t, the DELTA 3 Ultra does the same 3,600W job, lighter and quieter; the price section compares both at today’s prices. If you want expansion and a current design, compare the DELTA Pro 3.
