Same 10ms UPS, almost the same battery. The difference is what you can plug in.
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air stores 960Wh but delivers only 500W from a single AC outlet, in a 22 lb cube. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic stores 1,024Wh and delivers 1,800W from three outlets, enough for a microwave or a space heater, and it is the one EcoFlow US still sells: its 1000 Air page now redirects to the Classic. If all you back up is a router, a CPAP or a laptop, the Air was enough; for anything that heats or cooks, it never was.
Below: the five differences with numbers, a 20-second calculator for your own gear, eight modeled situations, a third option, and what published tests found.
If you’re buying today, buy the Classic: EcoFlow US no longer sells the 1000 Air and sends its page to the Classic. Both switch in 10ms; the Classic runs more than three times the wattage from three outlets and refills about twice as fast from the wall.
- it already guards a router or CPAP
- you carry it often: 22 lb
- one outlet and 500W are enough
- you need 1,800W for kitchen gear
- you plug in three devices
- you want a 1-hour wall refill
The five differences that decide it
Both use LFP cells, switch to battery in 10ms, take 500W of solar and work with the EcoFlow app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Neither has a 12V car socket or a battery port. These five gaps decide the purchase.
Will it run your setup? Check in 20 seconds
Estimates use 85% usable capacity and 70% of rated solar output. Real results vary with temperature, inverter load, shade and appliance cycling. Fridge and freezer watts are daily averages and do not include compressor startup surges.
Runtime by appliance, one at a time
Simple energy estimates, not measured runtimes: about 816Wh usable on the 1000 Air and 870Wh on the Classic. A load above 500W does not run on the Air at all.
Appliance for appliance, the Classic lasts 7% longer than the 1000 Air.

What the Classic costs today
The Classic is where EcoFlow US now sends 1000 Air shoppers. The DELTA 3 adds three more outlets, a 12V socket and a battery port.
The third option: the DELTA 3 at $579
EcoFlow DELTA 3: $579 today
For those who outgrow both. Same 1,024Wh and 1,800W as the Classic, but six AC outlets, a 126W car socket, two DC barrels, 500W of solar and a 10ms UPS, and it grows to 5kWh with DELTA 3, DELTA 2, DELTA 2 Max or DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries. OutdoorGearLab measured 870Wh out of it and a full wall charge in about 50 minutes. Our DELTA 3 review goes deeper. See the DELTA 3 at EcoFlow.
Eight modeled situations, worked out
Same formula as the calculator above, with no extra battery. The fridge averages 60W, about 525kWh a year.
24-hour outage, essentials only
Nearly the same: an evening and part of the night on either. The Air needs a power strip for these plugs, kept under 500W.
CPAP, every night
Both carry a CPAP for two nights and a half, and both switch in 10ms if the grid drops while it runs through the unit.
A microwave during an outage
1,100W is more than twice the Air’s 500W rating, and X-Boost only helps heating elements that tolerate lower voltage. The Classic runs it.
Three plugs at once
The Classic takes all three. On the Air, add a power strip and keep the total under 500W.
A desktop PC through a grid drop
Both switch in 10ms. A gaming PC that draws over 500W under load trips the Air; the Classic has room to spare.
Refill from solar, 500W of panels
Practically identical; the Air’s smaller battery fills a few minutes sooner.
A full-size fridge, nothing else
Both carry a fridge through the night. Check your fridge’s startup draw against the Air’s 1,000W surge; the Classic’s ceiling is far higher.
A 1,500W space heater on high
Beyond the Air’s 800W X-Boost. The Classic runs it, but drains in about half an hour: treat it as a bridge.
Nine more differences, the spec sheet and the box
Smaller gaps that rarely decide the purchase, then the full specifications and what ships in the box.

- Lower the AC charging speed in the app overnight.
Cold, heat and storage: 1000 Air vs Classic
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air and the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic share the same limits: charging from 32°F to 113°F, running from 14°F to 113°F. Neither has a water rating.
Figures from EcoFlow’s archived 1000 Air page and the DELTA 3 Classic manual.- Charge either one above freezing; in winter, bring it indoors.
- For long storage, keep it at 68°F to 86°F with some charge, and top it up every few months (EcoFlow US).
App, UPS and smart features
The EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air and the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic switch to battery in the same 10ms. The Classic adds Storm Guard and timed charging.
Same EcoFlow app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.Green zone: a switch under about 16ms, which most desktop PCs ride through without restarting.
Does it handle unstable grid voltage? EcoFlow says the EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air steadies fluctuating grid voltage and switches to its own supply when it detects instability; no such feature is listed for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic beyond its UPS.
Does it prepare for storms or charge off-peak? The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic starts charging when extreme weather alerts hit and runs timed missions to charge off-peak; neither feature is listed for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air.
Does it work as a UPS? Both switch to battery in 10ms. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air carries up to 500W through the switch, the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic up to 1,800W.
Can you add a battery later? Neither takes an extra battery. The DELTA 3 does.
How does the app connect? Both use the EcoFlow app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for monitoring and output control.
Warranty and support
EcoFlow US gives the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic 3 years, extended to 5 when you register it in the app. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air carried 2 years; an existing unit keeps that term.
Only the Classic has a term you can buy today.Subject to each brand’s warranty terms and eligibility.
EcoFlow publishes no cycle rating for either. For the DELTA 3 1000 Air it cites 3,219.84kWh delivered over 10 years in its own lab, roughly 3,350 full charges of 960Wh; for the DELTA 3 Classic its US page gives none.
- If you choose the DELTA 3 Classic, register it in the EcoFlow app the day it arrives: without registration, the warranty stops at 3 years.
- If you already own a 1000 Air, check the date on your original purchase: its 2 years run from there.
What reviewers report
We have not lab-tested these two units, and we found no independent test of the 1000 Air. Here is what the one published review we found reports, with the source, author and date for each point. Reviews of UK and EU units are flagged: those models charge from 230V outlets and have different sockets, so their charge times and outlet findings don’t carry over to US units.

Practical limits before you buy
- EcoFlow US no longer sells the DELTA 3 1000 Air. Its US page now redirects to the DELTA 3 Classic; check any seller’s warranty terms before buying one.
- 500W is the Air’s hard limit. Microwaves, kettles, coffee makers, hair dryers and space heaters overload it.
- X-Boost is for heating loads only. It lowers the voltage to keep a heating element running; motors and electronics need the rated 500W or 1,800W.
- The Air has one AC outlet. Plan a power strip, and keep the total under 500W.
- Neither has a 12V car socket or DC barrels: a 12V fridge runs on its AC adapter.
- Neither can be expanded. For a battery port, look at the DELTA 3.
- Register the Classic in the EcoFlow app for its 5-year warranty.
- DELTA 3 Classic, per its US documentation: AC input capped at 1400W (100-120V, 15A); 0-80% in 45 minutes, full in 60 minutes.
- DELTA 3 Classic, per its US documentation: Single XT60 solar input, 500W max; full in about 2.5 hours on solar.
- DELTA 3 Classic, per its US documentation: Smart Generator 3000 automatic start-stop works only with DELTA 3, DELTA 3 Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, not the Classic.
- DELTA 3 Classic, per its US documentation: Second USB-C port limited to 30W (first USB-C 100W, USB-A 18W).
Frequently asked questions
Is the DELTA 3 Classic the replacement for the DELTA 3 1000 Air?
Yes, in practice: EcoFlow US redirects the 1000 Air’s page to the DELTA 3 Classic. The Classic stores a little more (1,024Wh against 960Wh) and delivers 1,800W instead of 500W.

How we compared and sources
Research-based comparison. We have not physically tested these two units. EcoFlow US no longer sells the DELTA 3 1000 Air and redirects its page to the Classic, so its specs come from that US page as archived on March 19, 2026; DELTA 3 Classic specs from EcoFlow US and its manual. Usage observations are attributed to named reviewers. Checked on October 31, 2026.
- Specs: EcoFlow US, DELTA 3 1000 Air (archived March 19, 2026) and EcoFlow US, DELTA 3 Classic, read on October 31, 2026.
- 1000 Air outlet count and box contents: EcoFlow’s official product photos and EcoFlow Canada’s page for the same 120V model; EcoFlow’s spec table lists no AC outlet count.
- Reviewer reports on the DELTA 3 Classic: Basic Tutorials, Simon Lüthje, March 2026, EU unit.
- Runtime = capacity × 0.85 ÷ watts. Solar harvest = min(panel watts, max input) × sun hours × 0.70.
Both switch in 10ms. The Classic runs 1,800W from three outlets; the 1000 Air, no longer sold by EcoFlow US, stops at 500W from one.
