Same battery, same inverter rating. The Classic is newer, but it’s not a straight upgrade.

EcoFlow US no longer sells the DELTA 2: its page now redirects to the DELTA 3. The DELTA 3 Classic is the simplest 1kWh DELTA 3 it does sell. Both store 1,024Wh of LFP and deliver 1,800W. The Classic switches to battery in 10ms instead of about 30ms and charges at 1,400W instead of 1,200W. The DELTA 2 had six AC outlets instead of three, a 12V car socket, two DC barrels and a port for one extra battery, all of which the Classic drops.

Below: what changed with numbers, a 20-second calculator for your own gear, eight modeled situations, a third option, and what published tests found on each.

Quick answer

If you’re buying today, the choice is the Classic or another DELTA 3: EcoFlow US no longer sells the DELTA 2. Against the DELTA 2, the Classic trades three AC outlets, the 12V socket and expansion for a faster UPS and faster charging.

Bottom line: if you own a DELTA 2, there’s no reason to replace it with a Classic: same battery, more outlets. If you’re buying new, the Classic is the simplest 1kWh DELTA, with a better UPS; if you need six outlets, a 12V socket or a battery port, look at the DELTA 3 instead.
01 · Differences

The five differences that decide it

Both store 1,024Wh of LFP, deliver 1,800W of continuous AC, take 500W of solar on one port and work with the EcoFlow app. These five gaps decide the purchase.

Estimates use 85% usable capacity and 70% of rated solar output. Real results vary with temperature, inverter load, shade and appliance cycling. Fridge and freezer watts are daily averages and do not include compressor startup surges.

Runtime by appliance, one at a time

Simple energy estimates, not measured runtimes. About 870Wh usable on both; StorageReview measured 850Wh from the DELTA 2 at a 270W load.

Runtime verdict

Same battery, same runtime.

The DELTA 2 and the Classic both hold about 870Wh usable, so every appliance runs just as long on either one.

The DELTA 3 is where EcoFlow US now sends DELTA 2 shoppers: it restores the six outlets, the 12V socket and the battery port, with a 10ms UPS, for more than the Classic.

TakeawayBuying new, the Classic is the simplest 1kWh DELTA; the DELTA 3 is the closest match to what the DELTA 2 offered.

EcoFlow DELTA 3: $579 today

Where EcoFlow US now sends DELTA 2 shoppers. Same 1,024Wh and 1,800W, six AC outlets, a 126W car socket, two DC barrels, 500W of solar and a 10ms UPS, and it grows to 5kWh with DELTA 3, DELTA 2, DELTA 2 Max or DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries. OutdoorGearLab measured 870Wh out of it and a full wall charge in about 50 minutes. Our DELTA 3 review goes deeper. See the DELTA 3 at EcoFlow.

05 · Situations

Eight modeled situations, worked out

Same formula as the calculator above, with 0 extra batteries unless stated. The fridge averages 60W, about 525kWh a year.

Fridge + Wi-Fi router + phones and a laptop + 5 LED bulbs: about 2,190Wh a day (the calculator’s Power outage preset)

Same battery, same runtime: an evening and part of the night. Only the DELTA 2 can be extended, with one extra battery.

CPAP, two nights

CPAP without humidifier, 40W × 8 hours × 2 nights: 640Wh
DELTA 22.7 nights
DELTA 3 Classic2.7 nights

Both cover the two nights with about a quarter left. If the CPAP stays plugged in through the unit, the Classic’s 10ms switchover is the safer one.

Six plugs at once

Fridge, router, modem, lamp, TV and a phone charger on AC during an outage

DELTA 3 Classic3 outlets

The DELTA 2 takes all six plugs. On the Classic, add a power strip, keeping the total under 1,800W.

A 12V fridge in a van

12V compressor fridge averaging 45W, plugged into a car socket
DELTA 2Car socket, 126W
DELTA 3 ClassicNo 12V socket

Only the DELTA 2 runs a 12V fridge directly. On the Classic you’d need the fridge’s AC adapter, which wastes energy through the inverter.

A desktop PC through a grid drop

PC plugged into the station while it charges from the wall, then the grid cuts out
DELTA 2 (EPS)about 30ms
DELTA 3 Classic (UPS)10ms

About 30ms is longer than many desktop power supplies ride through, so a PC may reboot on the DELTA 2. The Classic’s 10ms is the safer bet.

14 · Practical limits

Practical limits before you buy

  1. EcoFlow US no longer sells the DELTA 2. Its US page now redirects to the DELTA 3; EcoFlow’s US warranty table still lists it at 5 years, but check the seller before buying one.
  2. The Classic has three AC outlets. Plan a power strip if you plug in more than three devices.
  3. The Classic has no 12V car socket and no DC barrels.
  4. The Classic can’t be expanded. 1,024Wh is the ceiling; the DELTA 3 has a battery port.
  5. Neither runs a microwave and a coffee maker together. Both stop at 1,800W continuous.
  6. X-Boost is for heating loads only. Motors need the 1,800W rating.
  7. Smart Generator auto start doesn’t work with the Classic. EcoFlow’s US page limits it to the DELTA 3, DELTA 3 Plus and DELTA 3 Ultra Plus.
  8. Register the Classic in the EcoFlow app for its 5-year warranty.
15 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the DELTA 3 Classic the replacement for the DELTA 2?

Not exactly. EcoFlow US redirects its DELTA 2 page to the DELTA 3, which keeps six outlets, a 12V socket and a battery port. The Classic is a simpler 1kWh DELTA 3 with three outlets and no expansion.

Do they have the same battery?

Same 1,024Wh of LFP and the same 1,800W continuous rating. StorageReview measured 850Wh out of a DELTA 2 at a 270W load.

Should I replace my DELTA 2 with a Classic?

No. Same battery size, fewer outlets. The Classic’s real gains are the 10ms UPS and slightly faster charging; if those don’t matter to you, keep the DELTA 2.

Which is better as a UPS?

The Classic: 10ms. EcoFlow’s spec page gives no time for the DELTA 2; reviewers quote about 30ms for its EPS mode.

Can the Classic run a 12V fridge?

Not from a 12V socket: it has none. Use the fridge’s AC adapter, or choose the DELTA 3, which has a car socket.

Which charges faster?

The Classic, 1,400W against 1,200W: about 60 minutes to full against about 80. From solar, both take 500W.

How long will each run a refrigerator?

At a 60W average: about 14.5 hours on either.

Can I add a battery to either?

The DELTA 2 takes one DELTA 2 or DELTA Max extra battery; the Classic takes none.

How loud are they?

EcoFlow rates the Classic at 30dB or less at 600W. The Technology Man measured the DELTA 2 at 58dB at 1 m with its fans at full speed during fast charging.

Is there a third option?

Yes: the DELTA 3 restores the DELTA 2’s six outlets, 12V socket and battery port, with a 10ms UPS.
