Same 5kWh, two different jobs: one rolls to the load, the other gets wired into the house.

The Anker SOLIX S5000 is a 97 lb station on wheels: 5,024Wh, 4,500W at 120V or 240V, a TT-30 for an RV, 3,000W of solar and a 10ms UPS. The EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus is a fixed indoor home battery: 5,017.6Wh, 7,200W at 120/240V split-phase, 8,000W of solar, an IP20 rating, no wheels, and a Smart Home Panel 10 that backs up 10 circuits. If you want one box to move around, the S5000 is the honest fit; if you want a battery wired to the house, with the output EcoFlow says starts a 3-ton central AC and room for a big solar array, look at the TITAN.

Below: every difference with numbers, a 20-second calculator for your own gear, seven modeled situations, and what published reviews found. As of November 1, 2026, no independent review of the TITAN had been published, so every TITAN figure on this page comes from EcoFlow’s US product page.

Quick answer

Same 5kWh battery. The S5000 is a station on wheels with a TT-30, a 10ms UPS and a 6,000-cycle rating. The TITAN 5000 Plus is a floor-standing indoor battery with 7,200W at 120/240V, 8,000W of solar and a 10-circuit home panel.

Bottom line: these are not the same kind of product. The S5000 is a portable station that can also feed a transfer switch. The TITAN 5000 Plus is a home battery meant to sit in one dry indoor spot, wired to a panel and to solar. Pick by where it will live and how you’ll connect it.

Estimates use 85% usable capacity and 70% of rated solar output. Real results vary with temperature, inverter load, shade and appliance cycling. Fridge and freezer watts are daily averages and do not include compressor startup surges.

Runtime by appliance, one at a time

Simple energy estimates, not measured runtimes. About 4,270Wh usable on the S5000 and 4,265Wh on the TITAN 5000 Plus.

Runtime verdict

Practically a tie: the S5000 and the TITAN 5000 Plus hold the same energy, within 1%.

Same appliance, same watts: the gap is always the size of the battery.

Need longer? Both take extra batteries: the S5000 goes up to 30,144Wh with 5 extra batteries, the TITAN 5000 Plus up to 30,108Wh with 5 extra batteries.
Runtime = capacity × 0.85 ÷ watts, for that appliance alone. Loads above 4,500W won’t run on the S5000; above 7,200W, on neither from the battery alone.

Both store about 5kWh, so price per Wh tracks the sticker price. The cards skip cost per cycle: EcoFlow publishes no cycle rating for the TITAN. Budget for installation too if you want whole-home backup: the TITAN’s Smart Home Panel 10 needs a licensed electrician, and the S5000 needs a transfer switch or an inlet box for the same job.

04 · Situations

Seven modeled situations, worked out

Same formula as the calculator above, with no expansion battery. The fridge averages 60W, about 525kWh a year; that average does not include compressor startup surges.

24-hour outage, essentials only

Fridge + Wi-Fi router + phones and a laptop + 5 LED bulbs: about 2,190Wh a day (the calculator’s Power outage preset)
S500046.8 h
TITAN 5000 Plus46.7 h

A tie: same battery, almost two days each. ESS News ran a large fridge plus phones for 61.5 hours on an S5000 during a real PG&E shutoff.

S5000 (4,500W, 8,000W for 1 s)Check its start
TITAN 5000 Plus (7,200W)EcoFlow says yes

EcoFlow says the TITAN 5000 Plus starts a compatible 3-ton central AC without a soft starter; it hasn’t published a surge figure. The S5000 runs 4,500W at 240V and peaks at 8,000W for one second, so check your unit’s starting draw or add a soft starter.

Moving it around

Garage in winter, living room in an outage, a camper in summer
S5000 (97 lb)Rolls on wheels
TITAN 5000 Plus (121.3 lb)Stays put

The S5000 has wheels and a handle; ESS News found it wobbly on grass. The TITAN has no wheels, and EcoFlow wants it in a dry, ventilated indoor spot.

Refill from solar, each at its maximum

Hours of full sun to refill from empty, at 70% of panel rating: 3,000W on the S5000, 8,000W on the TITAN 5000 Plus
S5000 (3,000W)2.4 h
TITAN 5000 Plus (8,000W)0.9 h

With a full array, the TITAN refills in under an hour of strong sun. Few roofs carry 8,000W; with 3,000W of panels both take the same time.

120V and 240V loads together

A 240V well pump plus kitchen outlets at the same time
S5000One or the other
TITAN 5000 PlusBoth at once

The S5000’s guide says it delivers 120V or 240V, not both at once. The TITAN 5000 Plus is split-phase, 120/240V together, with up to 5kW on either 120V leg, per EcoFlow.

Home office through an outage

Desktop PC + monitor 8 h + router and modem all day: about 1,850Wh a day (the calculator’s Home office UPS preset)
S500055.4 h
TITAN 5000 Plus55.3 h

Two workdays on either. The S5000 switches in 10ms; Bob Vila’s desktop PC kept running when it was unplugged. EcoFlow says the TITAN’s EPS switches within 10ms with gear plugged in, 20ms through the panel.

The battery lives in an unheated garage
S5000 (to −4°F)Runs, won’t charge
TITAN 5000 Plus (to 14°F)Runs, won’t charge

Neither charges below 32°F. The S5000 runs down to −4°F, the TITAN down to 14°F, and EcoFlow only places the TITAN in a garage that is dry, ventilated and inside its temperature range.

Does it work with existing rooftop solar? With the Smart Home Panel 10 and a CT sensor, the EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus stores surplus from an existing grid-tied solar system. Anker lists no such feature for the Anker SOLIX S5000.

Does it work as a UPS? The Anker SOLIX S5000 switches in 10ms; Bob Vila’s PC kept running on it. EcoFlow says the EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus’s EPS switches within 10ms with appliances plugged in directly, and within 20ms through the Smart Home Panel 10; its spec table leaves the field blank.

Does it connect to a home panel? The EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus pairs with the Smart Home Panel 10, 10 circuits with automatic switchover, wired in by a licensed electrician. The Anker SOLIX S5000 feeds a transfer switch or an inlet box from its L14-30R, but not Anker’s Home Power Panel or the E10 system.

Does it prepare for storms? Both charge ahead of severe weather: Storm Guard on the Anker SOLIX S5000, storm mode on the EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus, which charges to 100% before a supported weather event.

Can it charge off-peak? Both follow time-of-use rates. The Anker SOLIX S5000 handles on-peak, mid-peak, off-peak and super off-peak periods; EcoFlow lists habit learning and 3-day solar forecasting on the EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus as a subscription feature.

Can you add a battery later? The Anker SOLIX S5000 takes up to five BP5000, 30.1kWh; the EcoFlow TITAN 5000 Plus up to five TITAN 5kWh Battery, 30kWh, with cables sold separately.

How does the app connect? Both use their brand’s app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

  • S5000Reviewer A full charge pulled 6.24kWh from the wall, giving roughly a 78% round trip based on the app’s discharge reading. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer At the 1,000W setting the charge took 65% longer but used only 1.7% less wall energy. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer Two 400W panels in series on the high-voltage input peaked at 680W on a sunny October day. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer Recharging from empty on a standard 120V outlet took about 3.5 hours; 240V charging was not tested. Bob Vila, Paul Rankin, October 2026

Noise and heat

  • S5000Reviewer Charging was very quiet, even quieter than the smaller S2000; the reviewer did not measure decibels. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer Nearly silent running a portable AC, but the cooling fans hum noticeably as the load rises. Bob Vila, Paul Rankin, October 2026

UPS and output

  • S5000Reviewer A portable air conditioner ran for more than four hours at about 1kW with no problem. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026

  • S5000Reviewer Unplugging the S5000 from the wall while it powered a desktop PC caused no interruption. Bob Vila, Paul Rankin, October 2026

Daily use and issues

  • S5000Reviewer With 120V output on and nothing plugged in, it lost 5% charge in 24 hours, about 10W, in line with Anker’s 8.8W idle rating. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer Plugged in and full, it kept drawing about 7W from the wall, roughly 60kWh a year. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer The E10 Smart Generator cable would not fully seat in this pre-release unit, so generator charging was not tested. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer Easy to wheel on flat floors, but wobbly and prone to tipping on grass or rough ground. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
  • S5000Reviewer It does not integrate with the Anker SOLIX E10 system or its Power Dock. ESS News (pv magazine group), Andrew Riha, October 2026
TakeawayEarly S5000 tests confirm its capacity and a long fridge runtime, and flag the missing 12V port and its idle draw. No independent TITAN test exists yet.
